Job summary

GFT is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Specialist to join our Practice or CBG Team in Texas, with a hybrid work model requiring regular attendance at the Houston office. The role focuses on protecting IT/OT systems, leading security assessments, and driving growth of cybersecurity services for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities include security architecture, risk assessments, incident response, and collaboration with stakeholders to embed security into engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience required to satisfy education and experience requirements.
• Professional security-related certifications (e.g. Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, etc.)
• Must possess excellent customer service, strong communication and interpersonal skills, work well with others in an integrated team environment, and must be self-motivated.
• Proficient in securing Windows and *nix operating systems, endpoint applications, networking protocols and devices.
• Experience with industry standard information security technologies.
• Experience performing technical risk and vulnerability assessments.
• Strong analytical skills with experience working in or supporting a Security Operations Center.

Responsibilities

• Leads security assessments of technology systems and recommends system changes to ensure adherence to standards and security strategies.
• Generates and tracks security metrics and communicates results to technology leadership.
• Participates in planning sessions for projects or new technologies to drive process improvement.
• Builds relationships with developers and stakeholders to embed security in design and deployments.
• Researches TTPs in security forums and assesses risk to implement controls.
• Provides SME to resolve problems, security incidents and conduct forensics.
