Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a part-time Principal Engineer - Civil/Structural in Reston, VA, to lead engineering for combined cycle power projects. You will oversee all project phases, from technical specifications to budget compliance. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in Civil/Structural engineering, particularly in combined cycle projects, and will act as a subject matter expert. The role involves a minimum of three days of in-person work each week, with additional international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
• Recognized as an advanced contributor with specialized skills.
• Considered a subject matter expert within the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct technical specifications for Civil/Structural design.
• Oversee the design and evaluation of Civil/Structural components.
• Review design documents and supplier drawings for compliance.
• Develop conceptual designs for specialized engineering projects.
• Prepare discipline estimates and work plans according to project scope.
