Job summary

CommuniCare Health Services is seeking a Pre-certification Specialist for its Central Intake Department in the Indianapolis region. The role is full-time with some hybrid work and requires prior admissions experience with emphasis on managed care precertification.

Flexibility in hours and strong teamwork are essential. The position oversees precertifications for multiple facilities across Ohio and Indiana, supporting a busy central intake team.

Qualifications

• Previous admissions experience required; Managed Care Precertification experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to skilled nursing.
• Must work flexible hours and be able to work independently or as a team.
• Superior customer service skills including conflict resolution.
• Good organization skills and effective written and verbal communication.
• Must maintain confidentiality and professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-certification processes for admission.
• Maintain positive relationships with Managed Care providers for patient and provider satisfaction.
• Communicate with Interdisciplinary team daily to process referrals for precertification approval.
• Organize and maintain documentation of clinical records for submission to managed care organizations.
• Maintain up-to-date financial knowledge of skilled operations and managed care contracts for accurate reimbursement.
• Demonstrate autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in responsibilities.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and public relations skills.
