Job summary

City of Tacoma is seeking a Power Strategy & Performance Manager to drive the Strategy and Performance Management group. The role partners with senior leadership to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes and actionable initiatives.

The position blends electric utility expertise with executive decision support, while advancing cross-functional programs that enhance financial strength and affordability for Tacoma Power and its customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalency accepted: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible analytical or functional analytical work, with at least 1 year in a senior/lead role.
• Experience in electric utility or regulated utility environments preferred.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, refresh, and execution of the power utility's strategy and multi-year plan.
• Translate corporate strategy into objectives, initiatives, milestones, and performance measures.
• Manage strategic initiatives portfolio, including performance reporting and resource alignment.
• Assess industry and regulatory developments impacting the utility sector.
• Provide strategic advisory support to senior leaders and run planning workshops.
• Build cross-functional alignment and oversee KPI development, dashboards, and reporting.
