The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) seeks an Events Manager to lead the design and execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events across the organization. This role sits in the FAS Communications team and partners with policy teams to amplify science and policy impact in Washington, DC and beyond.

The ideal candidate will bring stellar people skills, high energy, superb organizational and logistical acumen, and a passion for the intersection of public policy, science, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and cross-functional leadership.
  • Experience establishing and managing relationships with contractors and vendors.
  • Demonstrated project and event management skills, including budgeting and contract management.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple issues at the same time.
  • A spirit of experimentation and creativity in designing event programming.

Responsibilities

  • Leads event preparation on behalf of FAS and coordinates across teams on execution.
  • Manages end-to-end logistics for major in-person and hybrid events and meetings.
  • Handles venue and vendor sourcing and contract management.
