Job summary

UCLA LPPI seeks a dynamic Policy Director to lead policy strategy, research amplification, and external engagement. The role shapes how UCLA LPPI translates research into actionable policy with state, local, and national impact.

The DP will represent UCLA LPPI in legislative forums, build strategic partnerships, and manage the Policy and Mobilization team, traveling monthly between Los Angeles and Sacramento.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in public policy, government relations, advocacy, or related field.
• Experience designing and implementing public-facing policy events, convenings, or leadership programs.
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and municipal legislative processes and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Direct UCLA LPPI's policy strategy, research amplification, and external engagement priorities.
• Lead UCLA LPPI's Policy and Mobilization team and coordinate across research, communications, philanthropy, and policy.
• Represent the Institute at legislative convenings, coalitions, and media engagements; build partnerships with policymakers and stakeholders.
