Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Voorheesville (US) offers a hybrid role for a Controls & Automation Engineer (PLC/SCADA). You will develop PLC/HMI programs for turbomachinery systems and support testing and commissioning, collaborating with global engineering and field teams to ensure on-time delivery.

You have 2+ years of PLC/HMI experience, strong Allen-Bradley knowledge, and a deep understanding of process control theory. Preference for Siemens/Modicon exposure in turbomachinery contexts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with PLC/HMI hardware and programming
• Strong experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC systems
• Deep understanding of process control theory and electrical/control systems
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control logic
• Experience with Siemens or Modicon systems and turbomachinery/process industries

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and modify PLC and HMI programs for compressor packages and auxiliary systems
• Interpret project specifications, process diagrams, and control narratives to ensure accurate program design and execution
• Coordinate with the Global Engineering Center and internal teams to ensure programming aligns with latest revisions and project requirements
• Support system testing, FAT, and commissioning by troubleshooting and refining control programs
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, and shop teams to deliver projects on time with minimal errors
