Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Plant Cost Accountant for a permanent role in manufacturing. The position reports to the finance team and focuses on cost, inventory, fixed assets, and monthly reporting with emphasis on GAAP compliance and accurate analytics.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cost accounting, advanced Excel skills, and experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop cost standards and drive savings. Hybrid work and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong cost systems background and analytical skills.
• Experience with cost standards development with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Ability to prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with fixed asset and inventory accounting.
• Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records.
• Analyze costs and identify cost savings.
• Prepare internal cost audits.
• Ensure GAAP compliance for financial statements.
• Analyze data and log detailed results.
• Assess changes in goods or services for cost impact.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and compare standard vs actual costs.
• Estimate new and proposed product costs.
• Provide management with reports on factors affecting pricing and profitability.
• Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
• Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Manage and control fixed assets.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly reports.
