Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Physician Billing Specialist in Fountain Valley to handle daily billing tasks and communications with insurance providers. The role supports patient accounts, processes claims, and assists with denials and appeals within a hybrid, 8-hour day shift.

Minimum two years of patient billing experience, strong CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, and accuracy with 40 WPM typing and 10-key by touch are required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years minimum experience in patient account billing.
• General computer skills and ability to learn new applications.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and CPT coding concepts.
• Typing 40 WPM and 10-key by touch required.

Responsibilities

• Review daily tasks in the billing applications.
• Contact insurance companies and third-party payers regarding claims status and payments by phone or written correspondence.
• Respond to inquiries professionally and timely; rebill and review denials; initiate appeals as needed.
