Orion Placement in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an experienced insurance defense attorney to join our hybrid defense team. You will handle insurance defense matters from evaluation through resolution with meaningful case responsibility and direct client exposure.

The role requires an active Arizona Bar license, 3+ years of attorney experience, and at least 1 year in insurance defense litigation. You will develop litigation strategy, draft pleadings, conduct depositions, and collaborate with partners

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Bar license in good standing.
• 3+ years of attorney experience.
• 1+ year of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing, research, case management, and litigation skills.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid Phoenix environment.
• Deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Handle insurance defense litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and potential exposure.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy, developments, and recommended next steps.
• Manage discovery, deadlines, experts, and an active litigation caseload.
• Work collaboratively with partners, attorneys, and support professionals on complex defense matters.
• Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing courtroom responsibility based on experience.
