Job summary

Elevance Health's BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician I focused on data entry and prescription interpretation. You will support pharmacists by verifying member information, transcribing prescriptions, and handling basic adjudication issues in a hybrid work setting with some training in person.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of pharmacy experience, and state certification as a pharmacy technician.

Qualifications

• Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Current State Pharmacy Tech Required.
• Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies member information and inputs data for the pharmacists.
• Ability to accurately read, interpret, and transcribe prescriptions, charts, and lab notes, including working knowledge of ICD-10 codes.
• Educates members on pharmacy based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.
• Provides resolution to grievances and appeals issues.
• Responds to inquiries from physicians, sales team, and members related to formulary and prescription benefits.
