Job summary

University of California San Diego Health seeks a Pharmacy Clinical Informatics Specialist III to triage and manage analytics for the Pharmacy Department across inpatient, infusion, and ambulatory settings. You will build reports in Reporting Workbench, Radar, Clarity, Crystal, and Tableau, and contribute to Epic upgrades and go-live efforts.

The role supports residency programs with research data and participates in quality and safety initiatives, requiring strong analytic and communication

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of related healthcare analytics experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor's Degree in related area plus three (3) years of related healthcare analytics experience/training.
• Broad and / or in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical informatics specialty areas.
• Thorough knowledge of all relevant clinical informatics software and technology, and the complex concepts, principles, policies, methodologies, and industry standards and practices involved with patient care and electronic medical data management in the UC health care system.
• Detail oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, see projects through to completion, organize competing priorities, and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate productively, work in a team environment, and to train and support clinical informatics users at all professional and technical levels throughout the medical center.
• Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to select and run queries, collect and analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
• Ability to work with senior staff and managers in clinical information technology, health care management, and business analytics, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Triaging, designing, managing analytics needs across UCSD Health system for Pharmacy Department.
• Producing/building reports in Reporting Workbench, Radar, Clarity, Crystal and Tableau for inpatient, infusion, retail, specialty, and ambulatory clinics.
• Supporting enterprise efforts such as Epic upgrades and go-live efforts; supporting residency programs with reports for research and medication use evaluation.
• Coordinating analytical support for health management, profiling, health economics, and business analytics/performance metrics.
