Job summary

ManpowerGroup is partnering with a leading organization to hire a Payroll & Benefits Accountant who will join the North America Finance team. The role focuses on payroll and benefits accounting, journal entries, and improving controls.

Based in Northeast New Jersey with a hybrid schedule (1-2 days on site), you will partner with the payroll team to ensure accurate processing, month-end close, variance analysis, and process improvements across the function.

Qualifications

• BS degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• Solid understanding of general accounting activities and journal entry preparation.
• Working knowledge of SAP, MS Office, and Blackline.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close journal entries, including payroll, benefits accounting, deferred compensation, and EPP.
• Partner with the Payroll team to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.
• Prepare manual intercompany payroll invoices and review monthly payroll variance reports.
• Investigate and analyze variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate existing processes and propose improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
