Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is seeking a Payroll Analyst in Pittsburgh, PA to support the payroll team across multiple jurisdictions. Under the Controller, you will verify payroll data, process payrolls in UKG, and maintain compliance with tax and wage laws while handling confidential information.

The role offers a hybrid schedule and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of payroll experience; CPA/CPP is a plus and proficiency with automated payroll programs is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with a professional service firm.
• Certified Payroll Professional or related certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with automated payroll programs; UKG experience is a plus.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, wage & hour laws in multi-jurisdictional firms.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and initiative to research answers.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Desire to collaborate with team members.

Responsibilities

• Verify payroll data and process payrolls in HRIS/Payroll system (UKG).
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll across jurisdictions.
• Maintain payroll records with data integrity and confidentiality.
• Prepare and distribute payroll information via feeds or reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
• Coordinate with other firm departments to resolve payroll issues.
• Assist audits and year-end tasks like W-2 preparation.
• Support payroll systems testing and implementation.
