Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking an in-house Paralegal for our Florida Staff Counsel office. The role is hybrid, four days in the office, with responsibilities supporting workers' compensation defense and trial preparation.

Ideal candidates have a formal paralegal certificate and at least three years of paralegal experience, preferably in Florida WC matters, plus strong writing, communication, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Formal paralegal certificate.
• 3 or more years of experience as a paralegal.
• FL Workers' Compensation experience preferred.
• 2 years demonstrated experience in defense litigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Superior interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze law sources to prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions and appeals.
• Compile and prepare draft discovery responses.
• Draft complex motions.
• Assist in trial preparation including notebooks, exhibits, subpoenas and witness coordination.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses and team members.
• Interact with all levels of the company as part of the legal team.
• Manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented setting.
• Maintain data integrity in computer systems.
• Support multiple attorneys in the defense of workers' compensation cases.
