Job summary

Kaiser Permanente The Southeast Permanente Medical Group seeks a physician to join its palliative care team serving KP GA members with life-limiting illnesses. The role focuses on outpatient care with additional inpatient duties at Emory St. Joseph's and Emory Decatur Hospitals, offering in-person and virtual visits.

Ideal candidates are board-certified in internal or family medicine and palliative care, with strong communication and teamwork skills to support quality of life and patient goals.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in internal medicine or family medicine, with palliative care board certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts office, telephone, video, and inpatient visits as appropriate.
• Assesses, treats, and/or makes care recommendations for members referred to Palliative Care.
• Addresses clinical issues and develops medical aspects of care plan, including observations, labs, medications, referrals, tests and prescribing.
• Works collaboratively with Palliative Care Team and members' PCP/Oncologist/Cardiologist to optimize overall health and function.
• Serves as resource for clinicians, nurses, clinical pharmacy specialist, social worker, and chaplain to enhance care for patients with life-limiting illness.
• Participates in Palliative Care-related meetings, workgroups, and department meetings, reviewing goals and quality metrics.
• Participates in community presentations and continuing medical education activities to raise awareness of Palliative Care services.
