Job summary

UC San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a transplant recovery specialist to coordinate all activities involved with organ recovery for transplant. The role includes intraoperative preservation, packaging, and providing first-assist support to local and distant teams, using aseptic techniques.

You will manage organs on perfusion devices, help develop training for new staff, and coordinate transplant recovery team activities including on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• College degree in a natural science plus two years of related experience.
• Certification/licensure as surgical tech or EMT required.
• Two years in surgical tech, EMT, transplant recovery, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical removal, preservation, packaging and transport of organs for transplant.
• Provide intraoperative preservation, first-assist and packaging support.
• Assist with training programs and on-call coverage; support transportation and supply processes.
