Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer I in Temple, TX to modernize and support enterprise order management technology across distribution, logistics, warehouse, inventory, and financial operations.

The role emphasizes Oracle PL/SQL expertise, supply chain familiarity, and growth in a complex enterprise environment. Hybrid in-office four days with one remote day per week; candidates near Temple, Austin, or Carrollton are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience developing applications using Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience developing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
• Experience with warehouse management, order management, inventory control, or related supply chain systems.
• Experience with cross-system integrations using MQ, shell scripting, Kafka, or similar enterprise integration tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• English reading/writing sufficient to perform tasks safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key engineer for order management and warehouse technology platforms supporting high-volume distribution operations.
• Support system integrations across order management, warehouse management, inventory control, finance, and other supply chain functions to improve operational efficiency and business continuity.
• Develop and optimize complex Oracle stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and SQL queries.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to implement enhancements and system improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and deliver sustainable solutions for inventory variances, transaction failures, and data integrity issues across integrated systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and system performance issues.
• Participate in production on-call rotation, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and system monitoring.
• Participate in software deployment, testing, QA, documentation and installation efforts.
