Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer and Project Manager with over 10 years of expertise in planning, design, and project management for water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. The focus is on utility design and municipal water/wastewater projects. Recent and ongoing projects include water and wastewater pipelines, lift stations, water modeling, City Engineering services (including development plan and plat reviews), capital planning, drainage analysis, roadway, and storm drainage design.

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Leading and collaborating with junior staff to produce high-quality designs and plans.
  2. Performing civil engineering planning, analysis, detailing, and plan set production.
  3. Managing projects, including tasks, budgets, schedules, and client interactions.

The candidate will have opportunities to lead and develop junior staff while working on diverse public infrastructure projects, providing technical support across Houston and Central Texas offices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Texas PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • 10-15 years of experience in municipal infrastructure, including water, wastewater, roadway, and drainage planning, detailed design, and construction administration.
  • At least 3 years of project management and client service experience, with successful budget and schedule control.
  • At least 3 years of experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying engineering information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in small to medium-sized towns or Municipal Utility Districts, including presenting to Councils or Boards.
  • Experience writing Statements of Qualifications and engaging in sales activities.
