Job summary

Foundation 65 seeks a creative, relationship-oriented Communications & Development Manager to strengthen community engagement and expand philanthropic support for students and educators in Evanston/Skokie School District 65.

The role leads external communications, fundraising campaigns, and events while shaping long-term strategies to grow awareness, deepen donor relationships, and increase community investment. Some evenings required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of nonprofit communications and fundraising experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Canva, DonorDock (CRM), and Squarespace.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to educational equity and racial justice.

Responsibilities

• Digital Content Creation: manage and grow social media channels.
• Email & Newsletters: write and distribute engaging donor communications.
• Brand Management: ensure consistency across public materials and the website.
• Storytelling: draft impact updates, appeals, and website content.
• Campaign Management: support annual giving campaigns and events.
• Lead communications for fundraising and community events; grow donor engagement.
