Job summary

SAIC is seeking a TACNET CB-ISEA Network Engineer (Fleet Support) to join our Norfolk, VA team. This hybrid-remote role requires frequent on-site support aboard U.S. Navy ships, with travel ~25%.

You will work with Active Duty personnel and government staff to deliver high quality repair and technical support for Navy afloat networks. Responsibilities include patching cybersecurity vulnerabilities, break/fix LAN support, root-cause analysis, and remote server/network troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience, or a Master’s and 1+ year; 4 additional years in lieu of degree.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting military network environments relevant to the responsibilities.
  • Administration experience with Cisco switches/routers, Windows Server, or Linux.
  • Working knowledge of core networking concepts and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely patching and remediation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities on Navy afloat networks.
  • Provide break/fix IT support in shipboard environments and troubleshoot LAN issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend permanent configuration or system changes.
  • Deliver server and network break/fix support, including remote troubleshooting.
  • Participate in technical meetings and deliver progress updates and briefs.
