Overview

Friendship Public Charter School Online (Friendship PCS Online) is a partnership between the Friendship Public Charter School and Stride K12, serving students from kindergarten to grade 8 through a virtual environment. We offer a rigorous curriculum in multiple subjects, including world languages, and support students with both online and face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for dedicated professionals for the 2025-2026 school year, starting August 2025. Our interview process begins in January 2025. We serve over 4,800 students and aim to foster high academic standards and personal growth.

Responsibilities
  • Create a positive virtual classroom environment that promotes high achievement and student ownership of learning.
  • Deliver daily instruction with clear outcomes, engaging lessons, and assessments aligned to curriculum standards.
  • Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences and display exemplary student work.
  • Communicate effectively with students and families about progress and needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development and team activities.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support students with disabilities by applying knowledge of special education laws and practices.
  • Track and support the academic and social-emotional progress of students with disabilities.
  • Design engaging instruction tailored to diverse student needs in an online setting.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and achievement-oriented online environment.
  • Participate in in-person activities as required, with varying in-person days per month.
Qualifications
  • Experience in similar roles preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Commitment to providing an excellent online education, especially for students with medical exemptions.
  • At least 2 years of urban teaching experience with demonstrated academic gains is preferred.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience with online education is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • One of the following: Praxis II exam success, valid special education license, or degree in content area.
