University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Medical Coding Auditor for a hybrid role in Baltimore, MD. The position focuses on independent physician coding and auditing reviews to ensure documentation supports codes selected by providers and coders.

You will assist with CMS guidelines, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 compliance, and deliver training to improve coding accuracy and documentation quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• Five years' coding experience with two years auditing/billing compliance.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
• CCS, CCS-P, or CPMA certification.
• Experience in Corporate Compliance.
• Knowledge of CMS, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent physician coding and auditing reviews.
• Perform coding compliance audits per CMS, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10.
• Utilize MDaudit for audit documentation and reporting.
• Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver physician coding education materials.
• Present audit findings to providers and leadership.
• Prepare reports for compliance leadership and executives.
