Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, healthcare, or related field preferred.
• 1 year of medical billing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Verify charges, procedure codes, and diagnosis codes with proper modifiers and digits.
• Prepare and submit billing to payers weekly or monthly within timelines.
• Review and appeal unpaid claims to resolve payment discrepancies.
• Generate monthly invoices for families and perform collection actions with patients and payers.
• Ensure patient demographics and insurance data are accurately entered.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and protect patient confidentiality.
• Communicate billing issues with patients, providers, and payers; report trends to leadership.
