Job summary

Modena Health in Solana Beach is seeking a patient-focused, hybrid Medical Assistant and Patient Services Representative to join our allergy and asthma practice. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) and based primarily in the Solana Beach clinic, with support to nearby San Diego County locations.

The position blends front office duties with clinical support, requiring HIPAA compliance, insurance verification, scheduling, and patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in a front desk, medical receptionist, or Medical Assistant (MA) role.
• Experience with insurance verification, scheduling, and electronic health records preferred.
• Certified or Licensed Medical Assistant (California) if performing clinical duties; CPR certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
• Verify insurance, collect co-pays, and manage check-in/out processes.
• Schedule patient appointments, testing, and follow-ups with providers.
• Submit and track prior authorizations and required documentation.
• Answer calls and respond to patient inquiries with courtesy and accuracy.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records in the EHR system.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
