Job summary

Rehlko seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer for New Product Development (NPD) to lead engineering efforts on high-performance generator sets and power generation solutions. You will guide development from concept to validation, applying thermodynamics, internal combustion engines, cooling, and electrical theory to deliver reliable, cost-effective products.

The role requires collaboration with Product Management, Engineering Analysts, Lab Technicians, Procurement, and Manufacturing to define

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving, communication and project management skills.
• Experience leading product development programs and teams.
• Exposure to design reviews and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing product requirements with Marketing Product Managers; develop functional specs.
• Create project timelines and preliminary spending estimates; present business case.
• Provide technical and design direction to Engineers and Analysts.
• Design generator sets to meet performance and cost targets.
• Approve major component selections with engineering justification.
• Track project spending with Accounting and Procurement; ensure budgets stay within limits.
• Validate designs through testing to meet performance, reliability, and durability goals.
• Maintain and update existing product designs; drive continual improvement.
