Job summary

Ionetix Corporation seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, prototype, test and release mechanical and electromechanical designs for cyclotrons and automated chemistry systems in a hybrid role based in Lansing, MI. You will apply mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials knowledge to create robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires 3D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks), strong problem solving, and experience documenting designs and ECO processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with designing mechanical/electromechanical systems and evaluating components.
• Familiarity with CAD modeling, drawings, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical/electromechanical projects from concept through release.
• Apply mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials in designs.
• Develop validation protocols and support prototype tests.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to move projects forward.
• Document products and manage engineering changes through ECO processes.
• Address non-conforming parts and assist in cost-reduction initiatives.
