Job summary

Aptar in Lincolnton, NC seeks a Sr. Materials Planner/Buyer to optimize demand, production capacity, and schedules to meet customer commitments.

You will collaborate across Purchasing, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers to improve service levels and maintain target inventory. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in materials planning within manufacturing, strong analytical skills, and experience with SAP and APO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• APICS CPIM certification preferred.
• 6+ years in materials and capacity planning, production scheduling, and supply chain coordination in manufacturing.
• Proficient with ERP systems (SAP) and MS Office; APO knowledge is a plus.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO 9001 standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate production capacity and adjust plans to align with customer demands; generate production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust plans to reduce overruns and excess stock.
• Collaborate with Customer Service to communicate supply requirements effectively.
• Analyze forecasts and integrate data into the production schedule.
• Provide timely updates on production orders to stakeholders.
• Interpret sales forecasts with Commercial Services to smooth demand.
• Maintain inventory targets and coordinate mold maintenance and tooling schedules.
