Cornell University is seeking a Major Gift Associate to join the Duffield Engineering development team in Ithaca, NY. You will partner with the Director of Development and MGOs to advance fundraising priorities and engage alumni, parents, and friends through persuasive donor communications and strategy.

The role emphasizes writing, project management, donor stewardship, and collaboration across the Alumni Affairs and Development division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Exceptional written and oral communication, including persuasive business writing.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across colleagues, alumni, volunteers, and leaders.
• Proficiency with computer software, databases, and information systems.

Responsabilités

• Develop fundraising materials for proposals, solicitation documents, and donor communications.
• Support donor strategy with prospect identification, portfolio development, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Deliver complex fundraising initiatives by managing timelines and key action items.
• Translate college priorities into clear, persuasive donor communications.
• Support pipeline development by researching prospective donors for consideration by leadership.
• Collaborate across the division to strengthen relationships with donors.
