Job summary
NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a detail-oriented Event Controller in the Atlanta area to oversee the financial operations for live sports and entertainment events. You will manage the full lifecycle of event finances from budget creation to post-event reconciliation, partnering with operations, production, sponsorship, and leadership teams.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in sports or live events, strong revenue recognition knowledge, and advanced Excel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 5+ years accounting/finance experience in sports/live events
- Experience budgeting and reconciling event budgets
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition and cost tracking
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience
Responsibilities
- Build and manage event budgets for live sports/entertainment productions
- Track real-time event expenses against approved plans
- Perform post-event reconciliations including revenue, costs, and vendor payments
- Forecast financial performance with operations and leadership
- Analyze budget variances and provide profitability insights
- Maintain financial controls for event spending and on-site processes
- Prepare financial reports and executive summaries
- Support audits and compliance as needed
