Job summary

gpac invites applications for a Litigation Associate in Scottsdale, Arizona. This hybrid, full-time opportunity targets attorneys with civil litigation experience who will work on sophisticated insurance coverage matters, coverage analysis, opinion writing, and litigation.

The firm welcomes candidates from diverse civil litigation backgrounds and does not require prior insurance coverage experience.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Arizona Bar license preferred/required.
• Civil litigation experience required.
• Experience in insurance defense, insurance coverage, or coverage analysis is a plus, but not required.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform insurance coverage analysis and legal research
• Draft coverage opinions, memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Handle litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Develop case strategy and evaluate legal and factual issues
• Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
• Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and other parties
• Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work

Skills
