Job summary

Winged Keel Group is a premier national high-end life insurance platform with a Needham office. The Life Insurance Underwriting Associate coordinates and manages underwriting, implementation, and client service, negotiating with carriers and guiding the process from application to policy issuance.

The role requires 3-5 years in life insurance, strong knowledge of underwriting, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Hybrid work from Needham, MA, and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the life insurance underwriting process and terminology preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the life insurance industry preferred.
• Knowledge of broker-dealer and licensing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of underwriting and implementation.
• Provide regular case status updates to CRMs and PMs and ensure timely communication with clients/advisors.
• Schedule medical exams and coordinate APS records; review results for medical history.
• Negotiate with carrier underwriters for favorable risk classifications.
• Complete and review life insurance applications and work with company case managers to issue policies.
• Prepare and send portfolio summaries after coverage is placed in force.
