Here at Optimum Care Counseling and Wellness Solutions, our goal is to help our clients use their individual strengths to gain insight into their problems and feel more in control of their lives. We are seeking Nurse Practitioners in Mental, Behavioral Health, and/or Counseling fields. In case you don't have a license to practice in Pennsylvania, we can help you in getting it and be able to practice your profession by working and being supervised by us. We are offering flexible hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, looking for a minimum of 15 to 20 hours worked on a weekly basis. You will provide individual counseling services to children, adults, and the elderly remotely in your home office as we are 100% virtual. We use a robust electronic health records system which includes a telehealth platform to see patients virtually.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Doctorate Degree in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric nursing
  2. Graduate from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
  3. Minimum Required Experience:
  4. At least 1-2 years providing direct client care to persons receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders
  5. Ability to work with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly

Preferred Experience:

  1. 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric provider
  2. Experience in telemedicine

Other Skills Required:

  1. Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered care
  2. Independently be able to document in and navigate ICANotes, OCCWS' EHR system - after training
  3. Conforming to HIPAA privacy standards
  4. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals involved in all aspects of treatment – children, parents, school faculty and staff, other shareholders, and the OCCWS team members
  5. Serves as a representative of OCCWS, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions
  6. Proficiency in computers, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  7. Ability to work effectively with OCCWS multidisciplinary team

Language Skills:

  1. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general and professional documents.
  2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  3. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Ability to foster teamwork; train and direct the work of team members and colleagues. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work productively and make independent decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Providing psychiatric services to clients virtually using the ICANotes platform; scope of services includes outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management services during scheduled hours.
  2. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders
  3. Managing medications by prescribing, recommending, or discontinuing drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders
  4. Efficiently work with therapists, social workers, or other members of the OCCWS treatment team members to coordinate client care
  5. Timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, outcome measures in ICANotes
  6. Provide counseling to clients during appointments as necessary
  7. Establish/modify individualized treatment plans based on assessments and/or evaluations incorporating best and leading practices into treatment interventions
  8. Order clients' laboratory or diagnostic tests, examine their results that provide information on their general physical conditions and mental disorders
  9. Communicate with clients' guardians, relatives, and significant others on their conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate.
  10. Document services provided in compliance with OCCWS regulations and practice, all local, state and federal laws, as well as payor rules and regulations.
  11. Facilitating for improvement quality of service quality
  12. Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
  13. Offer assistance to individuals with mental and behavioral issues
  14. Provide prevention-oriented, cognitive behavior, dialectical behavioral, or psychoanalysis therapies
  15. Develop and Implement treatment plans
  16. Collaborate with our in-house Psychiatrist and Psychiatrist Nurse Practitioners, other treatment providers, and placement agencies
  17. Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
  18. Complete all online ICANotes training videos necessary for this position (paid training usually 10-15 hours dependent on provider)

We are currently recruiting talented and experienced nurse practitioners who are open to treating our diverse population across the entire state of Pennsylvania. We are currently serving patients in all 67 counties. Based on patient's needs and demands, we are among the few practices in the state currently offering diagnosis and treatment for ADD/ADHD with the use of FDA approved testing approved by insurance.
