Job summary

Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, seeks two full-time Library Access Services Specialist I. This non-exempt, Bargaining position provides front-line support and helps users with library materials, online resources, and technology.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to troubleshoot basic tech issues, and collaboration with IT, Facilities, and Public Safety. Telework eligibility is available one day per week based on needs.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working in a library, OR two years of administrative support or customer service experience.
• Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must reside in Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, or Pennsylvania for telework eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at the library service desk and assist users in person and virtually.
• Help users locate materials and use the library catalog, databases, and other online resources.
• Answer questions and connect users with the appropriate library or College department.
• Assist with computers, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, and assistive technology.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and technology issues.
• Check library materials in and out and update user records.
