Job summary

Ascend Public Charter Schools seeks an Associate Director of Curriculum Design & Management for Science to lead K–8 STEM curriculum development and the operational management of curriculum systems across schools.

Reporting to the Managing Director of STEM, this role ensures rigor, coherence, and alignment with NYS standards, Regents prep, and a network-wide vision for college readiness and lifelong curiosity. Hybrid work in Brooklyn remains a core expectation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in K–12 education.
• 3+ years in STEM curriculum design, academic leadership, or centralized curriculum management.
• Experience aligning curriculum with NYS standards and Regents preparation is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to use data for curriculum decisions.
• Experience in a high-performing charter network or centralized academic environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and refinement of K–8 Science curriculum units and scope & sequence documents.
• Oversee pacing guides, assessment calendars, and curriculum documentation across K–8.
• Design assessments aligned to NYS standards and network benchmarks.
• Ensure curriculum materials reflect rigorous, progressive learning and coherence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation.
