Job summary

Target is seeking a Lead Engineer for Target.com Web Enablement in Brooklyn Park, MN. You will own the application architecture and guide the building and reliability of scalable digital experiences.

This role partners with multiple teams to establish reusable patterns and drive technical excellence. You will lead design reviews, contribute to automation, and mentor engineers while maintaining production-grade APIs and platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with production systems.
• Experience leading design/architecture for scalable services, APIs, or platforms.
• Strong programming experience in Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or comparable languages and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and lifecycle management for scalable services.
• Set technical direction and mentor engineers across teams.
• Develop plans, milestones, and resource estimates for delivery.
• Improve reliability and performance through observability and automation.
