Job summary

Responsibilities include attending training, conducting brief class visits, signing into STARFISH, setting office hours, and submitting timesheets weekly. Preference for candidates who are enrolled at The New School and possess tutoring experience.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in the target language.
• Strong English communication skills to explain language rules clearly.
• Experience as a tutor in school or university preferred.
• Position open to New School students only.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions (administrative, pedagogical, technological).
• Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions of 30 minutes; review material and guide homework.
• Explain grammar, pronunciation, and language structures; assist in written and oral assignments.
• Promote language courses after tutoring training; participate in cultural class events.
• Set up STARFISH office hours; submit weekly timesheets; report cancellations promptly.
