Job summary

IW Group Inc. is seeking a resourceful Junior Editor to join our post-production team in Los Angeles. You will handle smaller edits end-to-end and assist with larger projects, while contributing to our internal AI editing initiatives.

You will collaborate with the Post Producer/Editor, utilize tools like Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and help build workflows integrating AI tools to improve efficiency and creativity. Ideal for someone with 1–3 years’ experience and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in editing or post-production.
• Portfolio demonstrating editing fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Final Cut Pro is a plus; also familiar with Davinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Frame.io.
• Knowledge of media management and delivery formats.
• Experience creating social content and multiple versions of an edit.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex.
• Willingness to learn scripting and automation with guidance from the innovation team.

Responsibilities

• Edit smaller projects—including social videos, sizzle reels, experiential recaps, and cutdowns—from initial assembly through final delivery, with guidance from the Post Producer/Editor.
• Develop rough cuts and refine pacing, story structure, music, sound, and visual rhythm based on feedback.
• Adapt content for different platforms, aspect ratios, runtimes, and audiences while maintaining brand consistency.
• Incorporate graphics, captions, translated copy, and other assets into edits.
• Collaborate with producers and creatives to strengthen storytelling and editorial judgment.
• Download assets, ingest, organize, sync, and archive footage; prepare proxies and maintain project files.
• Prepare projects for editorial handoffs, conforming, color, sound finishing, and final delivery.
• Export and QA deliverables for picture, sound, captions, graphics, versioning, and specs.
• Maintain file naming conventions, version control, and asset libraries.
