Job summary

Phizenix is seeking a Junior DevSecOps Engineer to support secure cloud infra and CI/CD pipelines, focusing on automation, IaC, and security controls. You will help deploy infrastructure-as-code solutions, maintain cloud environments, and enforce security practices across the software lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has foundational AWS/Azure exposure, container tech, scripting skills, and a passion for secure, AI-assisted development. Hybrid schedule in the DC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/cybersecurity/engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years in DevOps/DevSecOps/Cloud/Infra roles.
• Foundational Linux and shell scripting experience.
• Python or other scripting language experience.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Exposure to Terraform or CloudFormation (IaC).
• Docker and containerization basics.
• Basic Kubernetes understanding and orchestration concepts.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and networking basics.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance of secure, compliant cloud-native infra architectures.
• Assist in identifying security vulnerabilities and remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain security automation scripts (Python).
• Assist with AWS/Azure environments, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub repos.
• Deploy IaC/PaC using Terraform, Ansible, Docker and related tech.
• Automate routine deployment tasks to improve scalability.
• Support CI/CD pipeline operations using Jenkins, Spinnaker, etc.
• Help create and maintain Pipeline as Code and IaC solutions.
• Assist with deploying and managing cloud resources via scripts/manifests.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues; collaborate with team.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot for code generation and validation.
