Job summary

Backen & Backen is seeking a Job Captain to lead technical development and documentation for design-driven projects at its Salt Lake City or Sausalito offices. The role requires translating design intent into buildable, code-compliant solutions and coordinating with multiple disciplines to uphold quality and timelines.

The ideal candidate has strong Revit skills, 5+ years in architecture, and a commitment to regenerative design and wellness-centered environments. Hybrid work option is available.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture.
• 5+ years of architectural experience with technical documentation and coordination.
• Strong Revit proficiency and experience managing models and coordinated drawing sets.
• Experience with construction administration, RFIs, submittals, and site observations.
• Architectural licensure or active progress toward licensure.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural drawing sets from design development through construction documentation.
• Coordinate documentation with structural, MEP, civil, landscape, interiors, and other consultants.
• Support construction administration through submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Mentor junior designers in drawing production, detailing, and BIM standards.
• Contribute to design reviews and project-wide technical standards.
