Job summary

Delta Dental of Iowa is hiring a Software Developer II to create and enhance customer-facing and internal applications. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, partnering with teammates to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

This hybrid role is based in Johnston, Iowa and not eligible for visa sponsorship. You will develop, test, and maintain software, contribute to design discussions, and help shape software architecture while learning from experienced engineers in a

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
2-3 years of experience in application development.
Experience with Java based web development frameworks and platforms.
Knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
2-3 years of experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML5, XML, and CSS.
Knowledge of code development tools: Git, Bitbucket, IntelliJ, Bamboo, and Jira.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain new and existing applications for customers and internal users.
Assist in creating technical design documents for projects.
Provide unit testing and ensure a stable production environment.
Troubleshoot bugs and deliver effective solutions based on user feedback.
