Job summary

State of Colorado (Judicial) seeks a Java Developer contractor to design, develop, and maintain web applications, backend services, and cloud solutions. You will work across Java/Spring, REST APIs, and AWS, contributing to modern CI/CD workflows.

The role is hybrid (1 day on-site Tue, remote rest of week) in Denver, CO, with a pay range of $55.00–$65.00 negotiable. The contract runs 12/01/2026 through 06/30/2027, 8am–5pm MST, Mon–Fri.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience developing Java applications.
• Experience with Java 21 or newer Java SDKs.
• Solid experience with Spring Boot and Spring-based development.
• Designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of JSON and API patterns.
• Frontend basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience using GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS experience and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications using Java SDK 21.
• Build and enhance applications with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and JSON integrations.
• Support smaller web apps using Thymeleaf, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Work with AWS infrastructure and services including ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB.
• Collaborate on CI/CD workflows with GitLab.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate on architecture, code reviews, and deployment practices.
