Job summary

Vimly Benefit Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced System Administrator to own the day-to-day health of a hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure, spanning Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, and AWS services. You will manage identity, device management, and security across Windows and Mac endpoints in a fast-paced environment.

The role reports to the Sr. Director of IT Infrastructure, participates in weekly IT on-call, and performs monthly patching.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in computer engineering or related field. Equivalent work experience in information technology, minimum of three (3) years, accepted in place of Bachelors.
3+ years of hands-on system administration experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, and enterprise backup, monitoring, and MDM platforms.
Working knowledge of AWS services, including EC2 and VPCs; experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools a plus.
Proven track record working independently with little day-to-day direction, prioritizing competing requests and driving issues to resolution.
Experience planning and implementing complex projects demonstrating creativity, sound judgment, and proficiency in the field's concepts and procedures.
Working knowledge of security and compliance practices; HIPAA familiarity preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, Okta) a plus.
Able to participate in weekly IT on-call rotation and perform monthly system patching on Sundays.

Responsibilities

Plan, oversee, and maintain the server and storage infrastructure to ensure data integrity and reliable system function.
Administer the Hyper-V virtualization environment, including virtual networks, hypervisor hardware configuration/updates, Microsoft Remote Application, and VDI.
Maintain OS updates and hardware firmware across production and development back-end servers.
Perform Telecommunication platform maintenance, including queue configuration, DID assignment, and user provisioning/de-provisioning; administer the Mobile Device program.
Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant, including user lifecycle, licensing, and security configuration.
Administer AWS services, including EC2 instances and VPC networking, in line with Vimly's security and cost standards.
Manage identity and access through Okta, including Okta Device Management.
Administer Intune and JAMF MDM for the Windows and Mac endpoint fleets.
Maintain IT asset lifecycle and inventory in SnipeIT.
Administer backups with Veeam, ExaGrid, Wasabi cloud storage targets; validate recoverability via restore tests.
Maintain and tune Zabbix monitoring; respond to alerts to prevent outages.
Build and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate configuration management.
Configure patch management to ensure network and system integrity; patch production and development servers monthly.
Maintain security of Vimly's information systems; monitor logs and alerts; contribute to policy changes.
Provide SFTP services and handle HIPAA-related data securely.
Provide second-level technical support and escalation point for Help Desk.
Provide consultation and training on technology use and computer applications.
Provide documentation, project tracking, and management reporting; evaluate and implement changes to meet future system needs.
