Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Transportation seeks an experienced IT Solutions Architect to lead technology architecture and integration for the Washington State Ferries Electrification Program.

You will guide design through testing and transition to operations, covering infrastructure, cloud, IAM, cybersecurity, and OT integration. Qualifications

• Enterprise Infrastructure and Systems Integration: design, integrate, administer or support enterprise tech platforms across servers, networking, cloud services, telecommunications, identity and access management, OT.
• Architecture and Technical Analysis: apply architecture principles, analyze requirements, compare options, identify risks and dependencies.
• Design Review and Technical Documentation: read diagrams, proposals and plans; identify gaps; document architecture and implementation details.
• Cybersecurity and Technology Risk: understand cybersecurity, OT security, vendor remote access controls, and risk management to guide secure designs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary TSD technical lead for the WSF Electrification Program and drive architecture recommendations and technology requirements.
• Assess infrastructure, communications, cloud, identity, and OT designs for compatibility with standards and operating conditions.
• Review drawings, diagrams, proposals and plans to identify dependencies, gaps and risks and guide resolution.
• Coordinate technology integration with engineering, system owners, enterprise teams, vendors, contractors, and shipyards with clear ownerships.
• Define testing and acceptance criteria including connectivity, failure recovery, security controls, and readiness for service.
