Job summary

Elveo is seeking an IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator to manage core IT systems across Chevy Chase, MD and Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Office 365, with hands-on server and network administration in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities include enforcing endpoint security, patch management, VPN and firewall maintenance, and supporting CMMC Level 2 compliance and audits. This position requires strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure management
• Hands-on design and maintenance of LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, and wireless infrastructure
• Strong Windows Server and macOS administration experience
• Experience managing Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and Office 365 at admin/architectural level
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device/endpoint management and compliance policy
• Experience with MDM platforms such as NinjaOne or ManageEngine
• Experience deploying and managing Microsoft Defender (Endpoint/365)
• Understanding of network security fundamentals: firewalls, segmentation, endpoint protection
• Familiarity with CMMC Level 2 / NIST SP 800-171 controls and endpoint compliance
• Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and incident-response skills
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, CCNA, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer and harden core infrastructure: Entra ID (Azure AD), CA, DNS/DHCP, Office 365, and endpoint security
• Manage endpoint and device compliance via Intune and MDM platforms (e.g., NinjaOne) with patching
• Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, MFA, network segmentation) per ITAR/NIST requirements
• Support CMMC Level 2 compliance program — maintain endpoint compliance and audits evidence
• Monitor and remediate endpoint drift via Intune/NinjaOne and Defender for security posture
• Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall infrastructure across offices
• Own network architecture decisions including segmentation, routing, VLANs, redundancy
• Deploy and monitor Defender; respond to threats and incidents
• Manage server infrastructure (physical and virtual), including patching and backups
• Document topology, architecture, and disaster recovery procedures
