Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, part of HII, is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist to write, edit and prepare internal publications. You will interview shipbuilders, develop content for Ingalls Connect News and SharePoint, and ensure alignment with our editorial calendar and priorities.

Ideal candidates bring strong writing, editing, storytelling and interviewing skills, experience with intranet platforms, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, employee-focused messages.

Qualifications

High School diploma and 10 years of experience
Associates degree and 8 years of experience
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience
Masters degree and 4 years of experience
PhD and 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

Writes, edits and prepares internal publications and communications.
Selects, writes, and reviews editorials and special articles.
Develops, recommends, and maintains editorial policy.
Interviews to obtain items for publication and to verify facts; assigns or approves artwork; and approves final proofs and page layouts, and websites.
May coordinate production and distribution activities.
