Job summary

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a private, non-profit educational and historic institution, seeks a Staff Auditor to join its Internal Audit team in Williamsburg, VA. This role blends hands-on testing with governance improvements in a hybrid work environment.

You will evaluate operations, document controls, and collaborate with management to strengthen financial and operational processes while supporting the foundation's mission to preserve history.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Two or more years’ experience in internal audit or the attest function.
• Candidate for CIA, CISA, CFE, CRMA or CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Apply the standard audit approach to evaluate operations and controls.
• Develop audit programs and perform procedures per the plan.
• Review transactions and documents for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Prepare workpapers documenting data and findings.
• Assist in preparing audit reports and communicating weaknesses.
• Support integration of computer-assisted audit techniques.
• Participate on foundation committees to address internal controls.
