Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's AFG Internal Audit team seeks motivated intern candidates to support safeguarding assets and reliability of financial and operational records through internal audit activities. You will gain hands-on experience assisting with audit projects, evaluating internal controls, analyzing data, and strengthening governance, risk management, and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business major.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, Copilot) and Adobe Pro is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits and review internal controls for effectiveness and efficiency.
• Test the reasonableness of financial balances and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
• Prepare electronic audit workpapers in line with company and external standards.
• Inform the audit coordinator of progress and discuss results with the audit team and management.
