Job summary

Ford Motor Company in the United States is seeking an experienced Interior Systems Engineer to design and release interior subsystems. You will develop geometry, set targets for cost and weight, and coordinate with design, manufacturing and suppliers to deliver production-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in interior subsystem development, strong CAD skills (NX/Catia/3DX), and prior leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years designing, developing interior subsystems and parts.
• 3+ years using 3D CAD tools (NX, Catia, 3DX) collaboratively.
• 2+ years leading teams.
• 3+ years in production release processes.
• 3+ years launching a new product in a factory setting.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop interior system requirements and specs with design, supply chain and core teams.
• Set vehicle-aligned targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
• Develop 3D geometry and innovative designs for crash load cases balancing construction and materials.
• Optimize concepts with analyses and physical tests while following federal regs.
• Deliver craftsmanship and GD&T through proper implementation.
• Drive new construction techniques to production feasibility.
• Communicate with Studio, Packaging, Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers for optimal solutions.
• Present concepts and status to senior management and company staff.
