Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists is seeking an Associate Attorney for its First-Party Insurance Practice in Austin, TX. The role offers a HYBRID schedule with two days working from home to start, and at least three days in our Downtown Austin office. Base salary is up to $190K (DOE) with bonus opportunities.

You will take primary responsibility for an active first-party docket from inception through resolution, with autonomy and support from managing partners as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Texas bar licensed attorney.
• 5+ years of first-party insurance litigation experience, preferably in property coverages.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and litigation advocacy skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and client reporting in insurance disputes.
• Experience with depositions, hearings, settlements, and handling matters through final resolution.

Responsibilities

• Take primary responsibility for an active first-party insurance docket from inception to final resolution.
• Develop and execute litigation strategy with partners and senior colleagues.
• Manage client relationships with strong communication and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with a national team on high-profile coverage matters.
• Maintain organization and deadlines across multiple cases.
